WashCo Bikes Grand Re-Opening Open House

May 4, 2019 – 11:00 am-2:00 pm

WashCo Bikes is expanding from its existing location at 137 NE 3rd Avenue which will become solely its bicycle repair shop to add 135 NE 3rd Avenue. This second new storefront will become the bicycle accessories store. They have also expanded their hours for both the repair shop and retail store staying open seven days a week.

“We are excited to be expanding our retail store into its own space. This will give us an opportunity to add capacity on the service side, while offering a wider selection of new and revitalized products in the store,” Nancy Nelson, longtime volunteer at WashCo Bikes.

You’ll find bicycles for adults, as well as children, plus bicycle safety equipment at reasonable prices in the WashCo Bike expansion. And the repair shop will still offer the high-quality service and reasonable rates that the community has come to expect. “Whether I’m getting my bike tuned up for nice weather riding or getting major bicycle repairs, this is where I always go,” says Donna Satterlee, Marketing Coordinator at the Hillsboro Downtown Partnership.

WashCo Bikes is also known for their educational Bike Camps, training kids on biking safely in the community, plus the Adopt-a-Bike program where donations allow WashCo Bikes to get bikes, helmets, and locks in the hands of deserving kids and parents.

Hillsboro Downtown Partnership will be there to cut the ribbon at 11:15 am on May 4, 2019. Please join us for a raffle, light refreshments and, of course, a toast to the new expansion.

Rune & Board Expansion Grand Opening

May 4, 2019 – 11:00 am-8:00 pm

May the Fourth be with you! Come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character for this grand opening event: Rune & Board is expanding into the other half of its building at 238 SE Washington Street

“This expansion will allow us to run sanctioned tournaments that require restrictions while allowing other types of gaming events to occur that appeal to the general public,” Nick Barnes, owner of Rune & Board. “We’ll also have room for added product lines in the expanded space.”

From gaming events to board games, Rune & Board has become a competitor in the local market. They are a little hidden on Washington Street, but once enthusiasts find them, the fun atmosphere and friendly customer service keeps them coming back. “My husband and I are especially excited about the hiring of a board game expert and the expansion of their collection,” say Elisa Joy Payne, Executive Director at Hillsboro Downtown Partnership. “An expansion at Rune & Board’s will definitely correlate with an expansion of our personal collection!”
