SPOOKTACULAR DOWNTOWN

October 31st every year.

A beloved tradition for more than 30 years, children and their families show off their costumes while they trick or treat from one business to another in Downtown Hillsboro.

SAFE PLACE

The story goes that more than three decades ago, Downtown businesses joined together to host the only business district trick or treat event in the nation. It even got national news coverage for being innovative in the era of crazy trick or treating stories. And ever since then the businesses has been inviting kids and their families in the well-lit shopping district along Main Street. We continue the tradition of closing the street to vehicular traffic to make it even safer.

SANE FUN

This event is about fun. Our Downtown businesses consider this a big thank you to the community and an opportunity for today’s generation of Hillsboro youth to create their own memories and hold Downtown Hillsboro in their hearts for the rest of their lives. This year, we plan to offer a few outdoor activities and some atmospheric entertainment. There will be pre-assembled goodie bags for trick-or-treaters. So bring your candy collecting containers and have fun.
