As with many towns and cities across this continent, downtown districts are typically the origin of colonial development and in many cases were traditionally gathering areas for native tribes. In our region, the location of our Historic Downtown held all the perfect components: a flat land surrounded by water sources, wild animal habitat, and fertile soils. It was an ideal location for a community to grow.
