HALLOWEEN IN DOWNTOWN HILLSBORO

Last Saturday in October | 3:00-6:00 pm

The story goes that more than three decades ago, Downtown businesses joined together to host the only business district trick or treat event in the nation. It even got national news coverage for being innovative in the era of crazy trick or treating stories. And ever since then the businesses has been inviting kids and their families in the well-lit shopping district along Main Street. We continue the tradition of closing the street to vehicular traffic to make it even safer.

Halloween in Downtown Hillsboro is a trick-or-treating event and in 2022, it will be on Saturday, October 29th from 3:00-6:00 pm. Hillsboro Downtown Partnership has partnered with Downtown businesses, local schools, and more to provide spooky music, performances, special appearances, and a haunted house or two along a very festive route.

Donate Candy to Halloween

Downtown Hillsboro is made up of a tight knit community of small businesses. The COVID-19 pandemic and the Weil-Arcade Fire of 2021 hit this community especially hard. Many businesses continue to operate in recovery mode and for some, participation in Halloween can be a barrier due to the cost of candy for 1,500+ trick-or-treaters. Hillsboro Downtown Partnership understand this concern and is accepting candy donations. Bulk candy donations must be in original sealed packaging and can be dropped by The Downtown Hive at 233 SE Washington Street, Monday-Friday from 10:00 am - 4:30 pm. For more information, please email [email protected].
