Halloween in Downtown Hillsboro 2026

Trick or Treat on Main Street and the Avenues is back!

For many years, Downtown Hillsboro has been a favorite Halloween destination for local families. As the story goes, Downtown business owners came together with a simple idea: create a fun, welcoming, and safe place where families could bring their children trick-or-treating. From that idea, Safe N’ Sane was born. Over the years, the celebration has taken a few different forms, but the heart of the tradition has remained the same—Downtown businesses opening their doors and coming together to create a memorable Halloween experience for the community. The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership is proud to sponsor the tradition, and our Downtown businesses are already stocking up on candy and getting ready to welcome trick-or-treaters for another Halloween in Downtown Hillsboro!

Trick or Treat on Main Street is happening on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Families are invited to walk downtown in costume and visit participating businesses for candy and treats. The streets will remain open to traffic, and businesses displaying a Trick-or-Treat flyer will be ready to greet you!

Want to help make the magic happen?

We’re hosting a Costume and Candy Drive to help support our local shops as they hand out goodies and provide costumes for the less fortunate at our Free Costume Closet.

Donations can be dropped off at the Downtown Hive (233 SE Washington Street) anytime between 10 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Let’s make this a spoooooky Halloween to remember: one full of community, creativity, and connection.
