The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership is excited to announce a special Ribbon Cutting event to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Sparkelly Home Boutique, one of our cherished local businesses. The event will take place at Sparkelly this Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
Sparkelly Home Boutique, located in the heart of Downtown Hillsboro, has been a vibrant part of our community since its opening. Known for its unique offerings and exceptional service, Sparkelly has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
This anniversary celebration is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Sparkelly team, as well as the strong support from the Hillsboro community. The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership is proud to support local businesses and is committed to fostering a thriving downtown area.

In an interview, Melvyn Martinez, owner of Sparkelly Home Boutique, shared his journey and love for the Hillsboro community:
“Hillsboro became our home about 8 years ago, we fell in love with the vibrant community, the small-town vibe, yet it has a lot to offer. As a family, we enjoyed the events that take place in Downtown Hillsboro and we love the diversity of the community as well as the culinary varieties offered. It’s just ‘Home’ so we knew it was the perfect place to share our business with a community we already loved so much.”
In February of 2022, Melvyn and his wife Kelly took action on their long-time dream of being business owners. They began by curating and refurbishing home decor and furniture, selling their products online and at markets. Their journey included trial and error, which eventually led to the opening of Sparkelly Home Boutique. In June of 2023, they moved to their current location on 3rd Avenue in Historic Downtown Hillsboro, marking the true beginning of Sparkelly Home Boutique and their integration into the community.
At Sparkelly Home, customers will find a carefully curated selection of pre-loved and new items, including home decor and refurbished quality furniture. Sparkelly Home Boutique is unique in that it balances vintage and new items, offering a pleasant experience that blends nostalgic memories with trendy, contemporary pieces.
Melvyn continued, “We are thankful for all the support we have received from our community, other business owners, the City of Hillsboro, and from Hillsboro Downtown Partnership. Everyone has been a vital component in this amazing journey as business owners in this great city of Hillsboro.”
