Halloween in Downtown Hillsboro

🎃 Halloween in Downtown Hillsboro is Back — With a Classic Twist! 🎃

For years, Halloween in Downtown Hillsboro has been one of our most beloved traditions: from massive street festivals and stage performances to thousands of families filling the streets in costume. It’s been a time to come together, celebrate our vibrant community, and create lasting memories for kids and adults alike.

This year, we’re keeping the spirit alive with a simpler, back-to-basics celebration: Trick or Treat on Main Street is happening on Halloween night, Friday, October 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Families are invited to walk downtown in costume and visit participating businesses for candy and treats. The streets will remain open to traffic, and businesses displaying a Trick-or-Treat flyer will be ready to greet you!

Want to help make the magic happen? We’re hosting Candy Drive at the HIVE to help support our local shops as they hand out goodies. Donations can be dropped off at the HIVE (233 SE Washington Street) anytime between 10 AM and 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Let’s make this a Halloween to remember: one full of community, creativity, and connection.

Your support brings joy to hundreds of families and helps create a warm, welcoming Halloween tradition in the heart of Hillsboro. Let’s show up for our community.

Halloween night will be an open, family-friendly atmosphere along Main Street and surrounding blocks, with businesses proudly displaying a flyer in their window if they’re participating. No road closures this year.

HDP and HART are hosting a community candy drive and will distribute all donations directly to participating businesses on Halloween Day. Your generosity helps lighten the load and ensures every trick-or-treater leaves with a smile.

While we’ve done large-scale Halloween festivals in the past, this year we’re returning to the roots of Halloween fun: kids and families in costumes, going door to door, collecting treats from our amazing local businesses on Friday, October 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Trick or Treat on Main Street is on Halloween night this year!

Downtown Hillsboro is made up of a tight knit community of small businesses. The COVID-19 pandemic and the Weil-Arcade Fire of 2021 hit this community especially hard. Many businesses continue to operate in recovery mode and for some, participation in Halloween can be a barrier due to the cost of candy for 1,500+ trick-or-treaters. Hillsboro Downtown Partnership understand this concern and is accepting candy donations. Bulk candy donations must be in original sealed packaging and can be dropped by The Downtown Hive at 233 SE Washington Street, Monday-Friday from 10:00 am - 4:30 pm. For more information, please email [email protected].
