The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership (HDP) Ladies Night is a monthly celebration designed to weave together the social and economic fabric of the local community. Held on the last Wednesday of every month, this event series serves as a mobile social meetup that rotates through different downtown venues—ranging from boutiques and art galleries to restaurants and Taphouses. By intentionally moving the location each month, HDP encourages residents to step out of their usual routines and discover the unique "hidden gems" of the district. It provides a dedicated space for women and feminine-identifying folks to unwind, network, and find strength in one another, effectively transforming the downtown area into a welcoming living room for the community.
Beyond the social connection, Ladies Night acts as a powerful economic engine for the historic core of Hillsboro. The event is specifically structured to "activate" the downtown scene during mid-week hours, driving foot traffic directly into the doors of local merchants who might otherwise see a slower evening. Participating businesses often offer exclusive deals or host special activities, while many donate a portion of their sales back to the Hillsboro Downtown Partnership to fund future beautification and community projects. This creates a beautiful "circular economy" of support: neighbors support small businesses, businesses support the HDP, and the HDP continues to revitalize the downtown experience for everyone.
We know that social norms have piled a lot of responsibilities on women, and we want to help the women of our community come together and have a break from that never ending to-do list. Just show up, and the hardest part of your evening will be decided on what kind of beverage to have.
