Hillsboro Wishing Tree

October 1-31 annually | #hillsborowishes | #hillsborodeseos

The Hillsboro Wishing Tree, is a weeping Camperdown elm at the northwest corner of Main Street and NE 2nd Avenue in Downtown. But it’s more than just a tree, it is a place of unity where community comes together to share wishes and hopes for the future. It is both a community building activity and an artistic demonstration during the month of October (Hillsboro Arts Month).

A group of Downtown volunteers are bringing an international tradition to Downtown Hillsboro and giving it a Hillsboro spin that brings community together. This initiative is a spinoff of the Hillsboro Downtown Together Steering Committee, a collaboration of organizations, businesses, and individuals who share a passion for making Downtown Hillsboro a better place.

LIVE ON FACEBOOK

Volunteers, community organizations, and businesses will be hosting feeds and posting vidoes either from the Wishing Tree or a location where wishes are being created to later hang on the tree. Please like and follow the page to keep up to date and inspired by this community act of love!

CREATE YOUR WISH AT HOME

We wanted to ensure that everyone in our community has a chance to participate in the Wishing Tree this year, so below is a link to a tag that you can print at home, fill out, and drop by to tie on the tree when no one else is around. We always welcome unique, homemade wish tags and art too! If you aren’t comfortable venturing Downtown this year, create your own wishes and post them to social media using #hillsborowishes or #hillsborodeseos.
