Hillsboro Downtown Partnership Secures One-Year City Funding, Commits to Expanded Impact in 2025–2026

Following a public presentation and discussion at Tuesday night’s Hillsboro City Council meeting, the Hillsboro Downtown Partnership (HDP) has secured one year of Urban Renewal funding to continue its mission of supporting and activating Downtown Hillsboro.

While HDP initially sought a three-year commitment, the Council approved a one-year, $100,000 allocation—giving the organization a powerful opportunity to demonstrate its measurable value and community impact.

“We’re grateful for the Council’s vote and this opportunity to show what HDP can accomplish with focus, accountability, and heart,” said Harrison Butler, Executive Director of HDP. “This year is about proving our worth not with promises, but with results.”

With renewed funding, HDP plans to:

  • Deepen engagement with underserved business corridors such as Calle Diez and M&M Marketplace

  • Expand volunteer-driven beautification services that keep Downtown clean and vibrant

  • Increase visibility and direct support to small businesses across the district

  • Launch new outreach initiatives and events to foster inclusion and economic vitality

Council discussion reflected both support and concern, with several councilors emphasizing the need for stronger visibility and service equity throughout the Downtown core. HDP leadership acknowledged these concerns and has committed to a year of transparent, results-oriented action.

“We heard the call for greater connection, and we’re answering it,” Butler said. “The road ahead is clear: deliver measurable outcomes, build trust, and continue to make Downtown Hillsboro a place everyone can see themselves in.”

The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership will provide quarterly updates to Council and the community, tracking key metrics and outcomes tied to its Urban Renewal support.
