Grand Opening of Shorey House Events & Wedding Venue Featuring Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with Hillsboro Mayor

The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership is thrilled to announce the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Shorey House Events & Wedding Venue, a premier historic outdoor venue in the heart of downtown Hillsboro. The event will be held on June 29, 2024, at 10 AM, and will feature a special appearance by the Mayor Steve Callaway.

The Shorey House, a beautifully restored 1908 Victorian house listed on the National Register of Historic Places, offers an unmatched personal experience with its private garden space and historic charm. As the first historic outdoor venue in Hillsboro, they can provide an affordable and elegant setting for a variety of events, from boutique weddings and birthdays to corporate events and photo shoots.

Venue Highlights:

The Shorey House offers two large event areas: a main woodland-like area at the back of the property and a charming front area with both paved and grassy spaces. Guests can enjoy antique and rustic furnishings that add to the venue's unique appeal.

• Event Season: May 1 - October 31 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

• Rental Packages: Partial day and full day options, multiple tiered packages, rental & consultation packages in 2024

• Services: Comprehensive event management, customized in-house alcohol selection, and in-house catering starting in 2025

• Special Offer: 30% off the full-day Gold Package for the first three clients booking for 2024 and 2025

Alexis and Chris Jackson, the owners of the Shorey House since 2020, are deeply rooted in the Hillsboro community. Alexis's family has owned the home since 1987, with her mother, Susan Tompkins, and step-father, David Slansky, dedicating decades to restoring the house to its original glory. As a businesswoman of color owning an events venue on Main Street in Oregon, she is proud to contribute to the future of the diverse and vibrant community and city.
