Celebrating Service and Community on MLK Day in Downtown Hillsboro

Together, we accomplished so much:
 Collected over 36 bags of trash, making our streets cleaner and more inviting.
 Weeded and landscaped downtown along the street and the pollinator garden at Bag & Baggage, giving our shared spaces a fresh, welcoming look.
 Took down the parklet on 3rd Avenue between Main and Washington Streets to make way for exciting new opportunities in the area.

We were thrilled to have the support of several local leaders who rolled up their sleeves and joined in the effort. A huge thank-you to State Senator Janeen Sollman, Hillsboro City Council Member Rob Harris, and Hillsboro’s new Mayor, Beach Pace, for working alongside our volunteers and showing their dedication to the community.

Days like this remind us what makes Hillsboro so special—its people. The energy, passion, and commitment from our volunteers brought Dr. King’s message of service to life.
