Celebrating a Year of Progress: The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership's 2024-2025 Annual Report

Another year has come and gone, and with it, another year of incredible growth and community-building in Downtown Hillsboro. The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership (HDP) is proud to present its Annual Report for 2024-2025, highlighting a period of strategic partnerships, vibrant events, and significant milestones that are shaping our downtown into a truly unique and thriving destination.

This past year has been a testament to the power of collaboration and a shared vision. We've seen a fresh chapter begin for the HDP with new leadership and continued funding from the City of Hillsboro, a clear vote of confidence in our mission to cultivate a vibrant, resilient, and inclusive downtown community. This support has been instrumental in allowing us to expand our initiatives and better serve our local businesses, residents, and visitors.

Some of the key accomplishments and highlights from 2024-2025 include:

• Vibrant Events and Placemaking: The HDP continued its tradition of creating engaging events that bring thousands of people to the heart of Hillsboro. Our signature events like the La Strada dei Pastelli Chalk Art Festival, Halloween in Downtown, and Hillsboro Holly Days drew huge crowds, while newer initiatives like "Ladies Night" added fresh energy to the local scene. These events, along with ongoing placemaking projects like the "Wishing Tree," are helping to create a welcoming and culturally rich atmosphere.

• Supporting Local Businesses: A core part of our mission is to make it easier, more enjoyable, and more profitable to do business downtown. Over the past year, we provided technical assistance and marketing support to small businesses over Historic Downtown. This focus on economic vitality, guided by the principles of the Main Street America program, has been crucial for helping our entrepreneurs thrive.

• Strengthening Partnerships: The "Partnership" in our name is more important than ever. We've deepened our relationships with the City of Hillsboro, and local business owners, among others. Our work to beautify the Historic Downtown Area is a great example of this, as we collaborate to enhance the downtown experience for everyone.

As we look to the future, we are committed to building on this momentum. Our recent re-designation as a 2025 Affiliate Program by Main Street America is a testament to the hard work of our staff, board of directors, and, most importantly, our incredible community of volunteers. This recognition provides us with a powerful framework to continue our work in the areas of organization, economic vitality, promotion, and design.
